Staddon Takes The Treble! Portsmouth MXC Club Championship Round 2

Portsmouth MXC embarked on a trip to West Meon on the 6th March for round 2 of their Club Championship.

Mx2 were the group to get us underway, Charlie Razzell was by far the fastest rider in his class and that was proved by his results of 1,1,2. Cool and calm riding let him take first overall and put a great score on the board. Jesse Wren was quick out of the blocks in all 3 races; he bagged the second overall with 3,2,3. This was just enough to beat Luke Southern and he had to go home satisfied with 3rd overall.

Mx1 followed after the Mx2 providing the spectators with some entertainment. Neville Bradshaw looked on fire. He was unbeatable. Some breathtaking racing from him and 3 wins to grab the overall on the day. Nicky Watts was also in a class of his own with some great riding skills on display. He took 2nd with consistent results of 2,3,2. 3rd could only go to Jordan Bachelor and he was the one to take it home on the day with 3,2,3

Josh Bassett was looking like the unbeatable force of Rookies. 3 easy wins for the young lad, 1,1,1 for the overall on the day! Callum Jones was flying this week and was determined to give it his best shot to take the win. Although he came close and had some of his best racing we have seen from him so far he did have to settle with 4,4,2 and 2nd overall. Max Agar got himself in the mix too; he had some great results of 2,3,6 to grab the final podium spot in the youth class on the day.

Travis Laughton was at the front of the Big Wheel 85s with a stunning performance. He looked confident from the start to finish of each and every race. He claimed all 3 for maximum points. Young Fabian Jnr Morrison rode well on the day, 3 solid results of 4,2,2 gained him second overall. Finley Yorke-Williams finished off the podium and went home with 3rd after results of 3,3,4.

Small Wheel 85s saw Harrison Schofield get his way. He shocked everyone with his racing. It was so fantastic. 1,1,1 saw him take an amazing consistent victory and maximum points. Marley Alder showed his face all day and proved he is a force to be reckoned with. 3,3,2 was the set of results he managed to put together on the day. 3rd overall went to Ryan Clift who looked set for second but a last result of 9th just wasn’t enough.(2,2,9)

It looked like Teddy Merriman had the 65 class for the taking. A big well done to the young lad for securing the victory with 1,1,3. Spencer Newman fell just behind teddy. He put in some cracking motos especially in the last race! He looked unstoppable. 2,3,1 made second place his. Riley Northcote managed to round off the podium with some very great results of 3,2,2.

Mason Staddon was the kid to beat in the Autos; he took the treble 1,1,1 for the overall. He was riding at an electric pace. 1st overall was his and it was well deserved that’s for sure! Behind him some battles were going on between Austin Edwards and Lilly Senior . Austin was the rider to come out on top after going 3,5,2. And although Harrison Ashwood showed his face in the first two races, it was Llily going home with 3rd overall. 5,3,3 was just enough!

The Vmx had some solid riding on show. Martin Bradbury had a great first race with a second place finish but over the course of the day he was pipped by Brooke Alder who walked away with a solid 3rd overall. Next in line looking for the overall was Brad Aspden who had a hard first race leaving him with results of 5,2,2 and a second overall. Flying at the front in a league of his own was Mark Morris. He was consistent all day, managing to secure 3 wins (1,1,1) very comfortably and certainly looks like the man to beat for a 3rd season in a row.
