Spectators can also return to their favoured vantage points with all round circuit viewing being allowed and paddock access is once again available to all, so a chance to meet your local racers and an opportunity to get a closer look at some of the race bikes. Advance tickets available,

before 9am on the Saturday of a race weekend, via https://tickets.darleymoor.co.uk Adults £13, Seniors £10 or they can now be purchased at the gate, on race day, for £16 and £12 respectively.

Although this is Round 6 of the calendar all championships are still very much to be decided as we are effectively just half-way through with one round being unable to take place due to the pandemic and another round being washed out due to the weather conditions. However, this weekend brings the first chance to enjoy the full facilities at Darley Moor and some fantastic race action out on track whilst giving some support to the local competitors in with a chance of the silverware.

As we write this release many championship contenders have already ensured their entry for the meeting, including.

Junior Championship Class A and Class B leaders, Jamie Hanks-Elliott (Birmingham) and Freddie Oakley (Chesterfield).

Honda CB500 & Suzuki Bandit Championship top two; Mark Brailsford (Chesterfield) and Liam Clements (Newcastle under Lyme).

Both Junior Class leaders will also be out in the combined Lightweight/700cc Twins races with Hanks -Elliott, currently 3rd, in the Lightweight class, and looking to close the gap on 2nd place man Steve Price (Cheadle), who is 12points adrift of the Championship lead. Twins Championship leader David Carson (Northwich) and Jim Hodson (Wigan) will no doubt be in very close contention for the Twins honours.

Albert Walker (Torquay) currently holds a 9point advantage in the Formula 600 Championship, with Carson, 3rd, but add into the mix multiple Stars at Darley winner Richard Cooper (Hucknall) and Richard Wardle (Stoke on Trent) and this is going to be an exciting race.

Cooper has also entered the Open Solo races giving the Championship’s top three of Josh Daley (Wigan), Mark Goodings (Doncaster) and Matlock’s Ash Stone an extra bit of competition and a bonus for the spectators.

The Pre-Injection Solo Championship is split by just 1point with Carl Morris (Etwall) ‘enjoying’ the slim advantage over Adam Walters (Derby), another fraught battle on the cards for Sunday?

Mansfield’s Lee Smith, 3rd in Pre-Electronic 600 & 750 Twins Championship, will be looking to make some in-roads into championship leader, Ben Dale (Warrington) and Stuart Bradbury’s (Kilburn) advantage.

Classic Championships: Graham Oakley (Chesterfield) will be looking to maintain his 100% record of winning all races he has finished, in the 250cc class, but with just 6points separating them Loris Hunt (Walshford) is intent on spoiling that record. Mike Lee (Congleton) currently has 10point advantage in the 500cc class. The 1300cc class has just 7points separating the top3, all three are currently entered, David Bradley (Matlock) 1st, Martin Davis (Manchester) 2nd and Martin Powell (Telford) 3rd but add to these James Oddy (Chell Heath) who has won the only race he has entered, and it looks set to be another excellent battle out on track.

Onto three-wheels and the Open Sidecar races will be another hard-fought battle with the top3 in the Championship split by just 5points and each entered for this coming Sunday; Keith Waddington/ Mick Storey (Barnsley/Spalding Moor) 1st, Steve Thomas/Danny Lewis, (Rockferry/Wirral) 2nd; Anthony Eades/James Etchels (Hyde), 3rd. The Formula 600 Sidecar Championship leaders, Howard Baker/ Mike Killingsworth (Sutton Coldfield/Washingborough) are also entered with Andrew Bingham/Kelly Bridgland (Sheffield) currently in 3rd place and looking at reducing their 26point deficit.

The action out on track begins with Practice at 10am, with the races scheduled to begin around 11.30am, be sure to get their sharp and claim your vantage point.
