ACU 50cc Championship 2019 Review
The 2019 season took in six championship rounds at various circuits such as Mallory Park, Lydden Hill, Darley Moor etc. 19 riders in total raced during the 2019 season over three classes, the ultimate winner for 2019 being Stephen Graves with 54 points on the RLT BazGas Metrakit bike, Stephen will receive the ACU Trophy at the presentation soon. Great racing as always through the grid with notable bikes being quick such as John Cooke, who broke the 50cc lap record at Aberdare Park (non championship round) with a lap time of 47.646 seconds and 68 mph average speed.

The Classic winner this season was Clive Somerfield on the RLT BazGas Classic 50 which came close with a points tally of 48, the leaders of all classes only being separated by a few points so it all came down to being consistent and running at all rounds to be the ultimate winners. The Road frame Class was won by Peter Swain, a top ride from him on a modified road going bike to achieve 36 points in total.

The Anglesey and Darley Moor rounds saw the Streetstock 125 four stroke road bikes join us on the grid, Anglesey was a wet race but proved to be popular with all riders 50 and 125 alike as the speeds are very similar for both machines and everyone found another bike to race with throughout the field, John Cooke again being the winner on the day with a great ride. Darley Moor proved just as popular and the racing just as close with mixed class bikes swapping places each lap and at each corner. The Streetstock 125 machines will be joining us again in 2020 to allow riders in this class to obtain riders signatures at more circuits for licence upgrades in the future.

The 2020 season looks bright and has received a great level of interest from 50/125 riders so far, we are pleased to announce the ongoing sponsorship of the racing by the ACU. The provisional season for 2020 looks like this:
