KTM UK Supports HydroGarden Weston Beach Race
KTM UK is once again partnering RHL Activities with support for the HydroGarden Weston Beach Race, which takes place on October 13-15, and this year some of the staff based at the KTM UK HQ in Silverstone will line-up to compete for the very first time.

RHL Activities is proud that the off-road industry is getting behind this year’s HydroGarden Weston Beach Race, which is annually the biggest off-road event in the UK with around 70,000 spectators heading to the Weston-Super-Mare seafront across the event weekend. There is nothing more grassroots than staff of an off-road related manufacturer getting stuck in at the deep end, and this year a crew from KTM UK are doing just that.

While being experts in the motocross sector, and KTM’s roots being firmly planted in off-road, so far few of its UK staff have competed at the HydroGarden Weston Beach Race, and will be experiencing the ultimate thrill of lining up on the start line themselves like many of the brand’s valued customers.

Eugene Chartell, Scott Hambridge, Matt Sloman and Brad Woodroffe are all HydroGarden Weston Beach Race first-timers, while Managing Director of KTM UK Matt Walker will take part for the fourth time. Competition between the staff will be strong, and a variety of bikes will be rolled out including the recently announced fuel-injected EXC TPI machines for the staff to take part on. We believe this must be the ultimate ‘perk of the job’, although they may not agree at the 2 hour mark and beyond! We would like to wish the KTM boys the best of luck!

Matt Walker KTM UK Managing Director: “We are really looking forward to the HydroGarden Weston Beach Race this weekend. The event is synonymous with everything to do with off-road racing, and of course KTM, with the event encompassing hardcore, extreme, yet fun racing that incorporates amateur level riders to the pros of the sport, with a huge family atmosphere. This year some of our staff and dealers are competing and I feel this is very important as a Ready To Race brand, as it means we are living things as our customers do. We get a real perspective if we’re taking part in the biggest off-road event in the country - I’m sure at times it will be quite character building, but there will be many memories and stories to come from it. It’s great for us to be involved on so many levels; I’d like to wish all KTM competitors the best of luck in the races and we can’t wait for an amazing weekend."

Gareth Hockey Director of RHL Activities: “Having support from the industry is incredibly important to us at RHL and we always feel extra inspired when we know major manufacturers like KTM have a similar motivation in mind to us for the sport. I think it’s great that KTM UK, like some of the other major players in the industry, are bringing staff to compete in the event as it doesn’t get much more grassroots than that when those working for the manufacturer are competing alongside their customers. We’re looking forward to a really great weekend, and I would like to thank KTM for its involvement with this year’s event.”
