CARLESS HEADS THE PRO CLASS GOING INTO ROUND 3 AT GARLANDS
This Sunday May 10th the Phoenix Tools/Ifly Premier motocross Championship resumes with round 3 taking place at one of the fastest tracks in the South West and that is Garlands Moor. This venue always produces some really top class racing not just in the Experts, but in all classes.

In the Phoenix Tools/Ifly Pro Expert class it’s the Oakleaf Motorsport Honda of  Shane Carless who heads the standings after his dominant display at the last round where he took a hat trick of wins who has a 18 points lead over the Tony Maunders Racing Suzuki of Jamie Skuse with Alfie Smith on the Phoenix Tools Ifly Husqvarna who had led the Championship after the opening round just 4 points adrift of Skuse in 3rd, but the field joining them is of high quality and includes the likes of fellow Phoenix Tools Ifly Husqvarna rider Alex Snow who has had not the best of opening rounds and will be looking to haul his way back up the standings plus Sunny Thompson on the D S C Cornwall Kawasaki, the Dave Thorpe Off Road Honda of Todd Kellett, John May on the St Blazey Husqvarna, James Dodd, James Harrison, Ross Hill, Tom Moore, Ross Keyworth along with many more.

In the Tony Maunders Expert Open Championship its Ryan Redwood on the G V Motorcycles Honda who heads the Championship with the Hill Power Racing Honda of Luke Hill there just 8 points behind in 2nd, but with Hill on home soil with plenty of local support he will be looking to take the lead in the Championship, but it could all change as lining up beside them will be the likes of Josh Taylor, Sam Gabriel, Jake Penny, Luke Sturgeon and James Kensington to name a few.

In the M D Racing over age classes its defending Champion Nick Life on the Gibbs Performance/St Blazey Yamaha who heads the Over 35 Championship by 21 points over the Readypower KTM of Rick Hanson who will be hoping to cut that deficit, whereas in the Over 40’s it’s Terry House on the Crescent Suzuki who heads the proceedings by 31 points from the Cheddar MX Store Honda of Chris Brown who moved up into 2nd at the last round from Richard Green. In the Over 50’s defending Champion Mark Gleadhill still heads the proceeding, but giving chase will be Graham Beale who will be out to repeat his performance from the last round where he took a hat trick of wins.

In the Tyremarks Junior Championship class its young 15 year old Jamie Carpenter on the Phoenix Tools Ifly Husqvarna who will be looking to extend his Championship lead on what is his first visit to this venue, but hoping to do well as well are the likes of Luke Craig who lies 2nd in the standings and Harry Mitchell there in 3rd just 4 points adrift of Craig, but as with the other classes there are plenty of other riders all capable of making there mark in the series.

Garlands Moor has easy parking and good viewing and will be signposted of the A3072 Hatherleigh to Holsworthy road (Postcode EX22 7XY) with the first race at 10-30am ( for more info or to book in contact Greta Edwards on 01884 840078)
