TV STAR TO APPEAR AT OLIVER’S MOUNT HILLCLIMB THIS SUNDAY
The Auto 66 Club will again be organizing the annual National Car and Bike Hillclimb on Sunday 17th August 2014.  The event as well as being recognized as one of the best national championship events in the area, will also host a star performer on Sunday when WARWICK DAVIES will be on site. The hillclimb is being used by the ITV for one of Warwick’s episodes in the coming months. This is the second time Oliver’s Mount has featured in a television series, as the BBC are doing a documentary which was filmed at the Barry Sheene race meeting, featuring Vic Reeves. This is due to shown at the end of September/beginning of October.

The event itself has attracted over 100 entries and features rounds of the Yorkshire Car Speed Hillclimb and Sprint Championship, the Northern Bike Sprint Championship, the Longton and District Motor Club’s Championship, Morgan Sports Car Club Championship and the Midlands Automobile Club’s Championship. Invited clubs include Nottingham, TVR owners, Bentley Owners and the National Sprint Association. The event starts at 9am with practice runs, followed by the timed runs at approximately 11am. Every competitor will get chance for 4 timed runs, which includes the notorious quarry hill section of the Oliver’s Mount race circuit.

Admission is £10 for adults, children 15 and under and parking is free, as is the competitor’s paddock where everyone is welcome to look at the vehicles and chat to the competitors. The Paddock Diner will also be open for refreshments. Spectators are asked to park in the top, main car park. The postcode for Sat-Nav direction is YO11 2UG.
