Derby Phoenix Heads to Croft on August 16th and 17th

Thursday August 7, 2014 at 10:53am

Adam Reeve holds a comfortable 105 point lead in the Derby Phoenix Pre-Injection 600 ACU sponsored Clubman’s championship going into the Croft meeting on August 16 and 17.

The 32-year-old from Rotherham, on his Fifth Avenue Limousines Yamaha, faces tough opposition in the fifth and sixth rounds of this nine-event series.

Alongside those chasing him in the championship, like Gary Cooper (Yamaha), Neil Harvey (Honda), David Weston (Yamaha) and Ryan Cooper (Yamaha) Reeve will have to take on local stars, David McConnachy (Yamaha) and Chris Muckle (Yamaha).

Lee Wilson (MSG Racing Suzuki 1000), the 31-year-old from Barnsley, tightened his grip on both the 751-1300cc series and the big Allcomers class in the last rounds at Anglesey.

Wilson now has a 113 points lead in the 751-1300cc class and holds a 95 point advantage in the 700-1300 Allcomers championship. Wilson now tops the Allcomers’ standings, a massive 95 points clear of Robb.

With Chris Mort absent, Ross Walker (Yamaha) has a chance to take the lead in the Formula 600 championship. Mort has 145 points, just three ahead of Walker. Sunni Wilson (Yamaha), trails Mort by only 31 points. A good weekend could see him climb to the top.

The meeting also includes the penultimate two races in the six-round of the 2014 ACU British F2 Sidecar championship. Three crews, Conrad Harrison/Lee Paterson, Carl Fenwick/Ashley Moore and Alan Founds/Tom Peters are all on 122 points.

Practice starts at 9.30am on the Saturday and noon on the Sunday, with racing following on immediately after. Adult admission is £13 each, with accompanied children, under 15, free.
