Tuck and Sparkes take victory at third round of the Luscombe Saab British Sidecar Championship

Mansfield Maun MCC hosted the third round of the ACU Luscombe Saab Leeds British Sidecar Trials Championship at Winster, Derbyshire on Sunday 13th April

Bristol sidecar trials champions Jon Tuck and Matt Sparkes repeated their double victory in Devon and Cornwall with a clear cut victory in the Mansfield Maun Motor Cycle Club's third round in the series.

Rochester son and father Rupert and Chris Kimber bounced back to pressure Tuck and Sparkes. Driver Rupert broke his arm in the West of England trial but was back at full force on Sunday holding the Bristol crew to a close result. Only six penalties split the two contenders after forty observed sections.

The big surprise in March was the form of road race come sidecar driver Kieran Hankin and Andy Cripps. To take Jon Tuck and Matt Sparkes to a one penalty gap came as a major shock. Hank and Crippsy shot from jokers in the pack to serious challengers. The Lancashire crew did not disappoint and finished third on Sunday.

As in March a quartet contended the Intermediate class. David Tuck and Steven Chandler rose from second to first ahead of Lee Granby and farmer, and sidecar and occasional solo rider Ali Haigh. First round winners Robbie Head and Aaron Jacobs finished third and lead their class.

Skipton brothers Chris and Robert Pickard hit the headlines when they won the Clubman class at the Colin Dommett, They won again on Sunday and now stand on a heady sixty championship points.

Simon Evans and Nick top scored in March over Paul Fishlock and Debbie Merrell who hung onto the big Ariel to take third place. The result was just the same as the previous two events as far a championship points. Newcomers Andres Cook and Colby Cook-Taylor won their class in their debut ride
