This weekend (May 4th) Bristol Grass Racing Combine are holding a benefit meeting in aid of Calvin Palmer. This is the clubs second attempt to run this meeting after the first attempt was cancelled due to the weather.
Calvin was seriously injured in a racing accident in May 2013 and as yet has not left hospital, however the last few months have seen a great improvement in his recovery. The financial burden on his family has been very high, travelling to and from hospitals and paying for accommodation etc.
Calvin and his family have been actively involved in racing and running meetings for many years and have done so much for our sport that the club at Bristol Grass Racing Combine have decided to put this meeting on as a benefit meeting for them to try to help in a small way.
Sunday’s meeting will feature a bumper line up of classes including various Youth Class and 250cc, 350cc and 500cc Solo’s along with 500cc and 1000cc Right-hand sidecars.
The meeting is taking place at Hanger Farm, Lower Stanton, St Quintin near Chippenham, Wiltshire. All the action kicks off at 11am with practice and the first race at 1pm.
