The fourth round of the British Youth Nationals Series will take place at the Wooley Grange track near Durham on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th September 2012.
The British Youth Nationals Series heads to the Wooley Grange motocross track at Crook near Durham this weekend, for the penultimate round of what is proving to be a tightly contested championship in all classes.
"Wooley Grange is a fantastic track for the British Youth Nationals," commented Gareth Hockey, Diredctor of RHL Activities. "It's a very technical and demanding layout, with a tight and twisty element that then opens up into a fast and flowing section with a variety of jumps and obstacles to negotiate. Mastering the track will be a challenge for the riders in every class, which should ensure we have the same close and exciting racing that made the first three rounds of the championship so appealing to riders and spectators alike."
In the Open Championship it was Liam on the RFX Lanes Kawasaki who took the overall win last time out at Fat Cats Motoparc, after winning three races at the Doncaster track. The win extended his lead in the championship and he now leads Jack Kelly by 77 points with just two rounds remaining.
Jay Hague took three wins and the overall in the BW85 championship in Doncaster, which tied him on points with Josh Coleman at the top of the standings. Hague is listed first, due to securing more race wins that Coleman in the three rounds so far. Robert Yates is just 19 points off the leaders in fourth, with Will Keogh a further 30 points adrift in fifth.
Taylor Hamal was the stand out rider in the SW85 class at Fat Cats, taking victory in five of the six races aboard his Pope Racing KTM to claim the overall win from Dee-Jay Walker. The overall win meant Hamal extended his lead at the top of the standings, with second placed Albie Wilkie now trailing the series leader by 77 points.
It was a clean sweep in the 65cc Junior Championship for Gary Ashley on the Goldentyre/Charge Clothing KTM, as he went six from six to take the overall win with a perfect performance. Ashley now has a lead of 102 points at the top of the championship from Max Ingham, with Dane Reeves a further 23 points back in third.
The 65cc Junior Championship was a closely fought affair at Salters Lane, with Tom Grimshaw and Christopher Mills both claiming three wins. It was Grimshaw who took the overall, courtesy of an additional second place, but Mills still leads the championship by 21 points.
The Auto Class will return to action at Wooley Grange and the championship couldn't be closer with just two rounds remaining. Louie Kessel leads the way at the top of the standings, but Jack Grayshon is just 8 points behind the leader in second, while Bobby Bruce is only 11 points back in third. The top five are separated by just 54 points, which promises fireworks at this weekend's event.
