Maxxis gets set for Hawkstone

With two weeks to go and the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship in full swing now, round six of the series takes place at the fantastic Hawkstone Park Circuit in Shropshire on the 29th July 2012. The Salop Motor Club are once again in full preparation for the race and they are eager to put on a stunning event at one of the most popular tracks on the Championship calendar.

The last round at Desertmartin, produced some fantastic racing with Kevin Strijbos taking the overall MX1 win and reclaiming the points lead. In the MX2 class Mel Pocock took the overall MX2 win and closed the gap on series leader Elliott Banks Browne. The racing is set to be action packed at Hawkstone Park with two MX1 and MX2 races, plus the second of the combined races, which will see the top MX2 riders battle against the MX1 riders.

Round 6 of the Maxxis ACU British Championship also features the second round of both the British Veterans Championship and the MXY85 class. In the Veterans Class Phil Mercer currently leads the Championship following the opening round at FatCat, reigning Champion Greg Hanson currently sits second ahead of Gary Hoptrough in third. The MXY85 held its opening round at Milton Park and after some fantastic racing it was Will Keogh who took the overall win ahead of Todd Kellett and Jordan Eccles.

The one major doubt for the Hawkstone event will be current second placed man in the MX1 Championship Matiss Karro who suffered a huge qualifying crash at the Motocross GP in Sweden where he suffered a back injury and also concussion.

Tickets cost £20 for Adults and £5 for children under 14, Camping is £10 per pitch and open from Saturday the 28th July. The action kicks off at 8.45am on Sunday morning and for more information see www.mxgb.co.uk.
