British Solo Trials Championships Heads to Round 4

We are now into the second half of the 2012 ACU British Trials Championships. The next round is this coming Saturday and Sunday at Ruby Rocks at Bagtor Baron, Islington, Devon. The important bit however these days is the postcode for the satnav which is TQ13 9RT, a great help when negotiating some of those narrow country lanes.

Ruby Rocks was used 3 years ago for the British Championships and the organising West Of England MCC felt it a better venue for a no stop event than Kelly Farm. It was also the venue for last year's Southern Experts and features mainly stream sections which follows the valley upwards but is usually quite accessible for spectators.

Practice is on Saturday between 2.30 and 5.30 with the trial starting Sunday at 9.30. The Expert group will be first away so the Championship contenders will be starting around 30 minutes later.
The Expert group is currently headed by North Eastern rider John Crinson who so far has a win and two seconds to his name giving him a tally of 54 points. His nearest challenger s are Richard Timperley and Adam Milner but both are 12 points behind. At the top of the Championship it will surprise no one that those two arch rivals James Dabill and Michael Brown are fighting it out at the front. Brownie won the series opener but Dib's has come back to take the next two rounds and that puts him just one point ahead in the title race. Alezx Wigg is lying third on the Gas Gas and he won here the last time the series came to Ruby Rocks. Lets not forget the 125cc Championship that is also proving to be a straight shootout between Bradley Cox and Tom Dexter. Bradley has two wins to Tom's one but they are just are just three marks apart so they still have all to play for.
