Matt Truelove got his season off to a flying start in the Team Respro MRO 600 series, taking a brace of wins, a second and a fourth from the opening round at Brands Hatch.

Truelove started his weekend the right way, qualifying on pole on his Yamaha R6, while former BMCRC Rookie 600 champion and Clubman 600 champion James Puttrell put his R. H. Logisitics Yamaha in the middle of the front row. Tom Dean qualified third and made it an all Yamaha front row.

However, a poor start saw Truelove down in fourth place at the end of the first lap, but he worked his way into second by the end of the first circulation and hit the front a lap later. From there he was never headed, and went on to win by 2.8 seconds.

The battle for second was a far closer affair, with Tommy Philp and Chris Burrage, who came through from fifth and sixth on the grid, split by just one hundredth of a second at the flag. The pair spent the race vying for position, along with Puttrell and Joe Goggins, who finished fourth and fifth.

Martin Turner finished sixth, before a six-rider train crossed the line in the battle for top Clubman honours. Olly Savage took the class win in seventh on the Validus-IVC Ltd Kawasaki ZX-6R, ahead of Joe Morphett, with Stephen Draper and David Wake third and fourth in class respectively, and rounding out the top 10.

Truelove made it two from two after Saturday's second encounter, again coming through after a mediocre start to take victory by over three seconds. It was another hard fought battle behind for second place, this tie between Burrage and Puttrell.

Burrage crossed the line two tenths of a second ahead of the reigning Clubman 600 champion, who put the pressure on for the full 12 laps, but was never in a position to make a move. Philp, Goggins and Turner again filled the remaining top six places, with the battle for seventh also the battle for 25 Clubman points.

Those points went the way of Draper, ahead of Harry Truelove and Paul Gallaway, with race one Clubman winner Savage in 10th.

However, a 10-second penalty for a start line infringement saw him demoted to fourth in the final classification, handing Goggins the victory after Philp crashed out on the second lap after storming into the lead.

Less than a second covered the podium in the end, as Smith took his first podium finish of the season with second, followed Harry Truelove in third, who also took the win in the Clubman class.

As conditions improved for the final race, Saunders took his first win with Ruth a lonely second and Mark Thompson an even lonelier third. Keith Povah and Oliver Fooks claimed a Sub-64 class win each, while Matty Whelan was unassailable in the Rookie class, taking all four wins.

Taylor took the win on both occasions with Woodall second. Former champion Chris Rogers finished third in the opening race before Christopher Kent rounded out the podium in the second race.

Taylor and Woodall were again first and second in Sunday's opener as Rogers came home in a lonely third place, before reigning champion Taylor completed his dominant display and took the win in race four.
