This Sunday the opening round of the 2012 Phoenix Tools sponsored Premier Motocross Championships kicks off at the prestigious Landrake Moto Parc in Cornwall. Entries have been flooding in with all classes full right up which includes in the Experts the likes of French GP Star Nicolas Aubin on the Buildbase Honda along with teammate Jordan Booker, Stephen Sword also has entered and joining them there is the likes of defending Champion John May who has switched from a Suzuki to a Honda this year, Luke Mellows, Luke Hill, Jamie Skuse, Belgium star Maarten Cremers, Jackson Evans, Young Tommy Alba and 2010 British Veteran Champion Terry House plus many more.

You know the new season has arrived when the regs for round 1 at Binsted come out! South Hants Scramble Club’s first meeting, which was postponed from the week before, was a good days racing with beautiful weather thrown in for good measure. For an early meeting, after all we are still in February, 18 sidecars lined up for race 1; a good omen for the rest of the year? These crews also included two who clocked up a fair few miles to get to Binsted having set off from Cornwall.

This weekend has finally arrived and the HIMX team are all geared up and ready to go for the Hawk International at Hawkstone Park this Sunday 26th February. The Hawk Plant diggers and bulldozers are in, the track is looking great and so far the weather is getting better, the riders are set and the action will kick off early Sunday morning at the fantastic Hawkstone Park venue.

The take-up of dates at Milton MX Park for 2012 has been very encouraging but, recognising that the current economic climate is having a negative effect on our sport, ACU Events Ltd has decided to offer a £500 reduction in price to ACU Affiliated Clubs hiring the venue this year.

The Scottish ACU Motocross re-vamp gains pace, following the de-affiliation of some motocross based clubs to an alternative organisation and the appointment of three-times Scottish Champion, Stuart Flockhart; the sport’s Scottish governing body has reformed their motocross committee in time for the 2012 racing season.
