This weeks ‘What’s on Weekly’ features more events from around the country. Here is a selection of just a few events taking place.

Motocross

This weekend the Vets Motocross of Nations will be taking place at the famous and historic Farleigh Castle venue. The event sees the best of the world’s past and present riders battling it out for individual and team honour’s on classic machines from the golden era of Motocross. The Farleigh Castle MXON has become one of the best events in the UK and Europe. The meeting will consist of nine different classes competing four times during the weekend. This weekend Round 6 of the Eastern Centre Championship will be taking place at Wattisfield Hall. The meeting is being hosted by Diss MCC club and will be the first time in recent years that the championship has returned to great venue of Wattisfield. The natural circuit always produces some excellent close racing and this weekend is sure to be no different. Practice on the day will start at 10:30 with the first race being at 12noon.

The event will feature two special tests, one being a Motocross track and the other being a Cross Country. The event will be starting at 10am on both day and is sure to create some good action as the championship goes down to the wire.

Trials

There are just two events left in the 2011 ACU Events sponsored British Trials Championships. A reminder that the first of these is The Mitchell Trial in South Wales. This event on Saturday and Sunday sees a change of venue. The new venue is at Twyn Gwyn Farm Lane, Mynyddislwyn, Newport, S Wales, NP11 7BA. The event will also be signposted off A472 Pontypool - Newbridge Rd.
There are all three classes still to be decided although in the senior championship James Dabill is looking odds on for a third successive title as he holds a comfortable 12 point lead over his nearest rival Michael Brown. The Championship A group is very close. Ricky Wiggins currently leads but he is just one point ahead of Jack Spencer who won the last round in Yorkshire. Sherco’s James Fry could still get amongst them but he is currently 10 points adrift of the top two. There is a similar situation in the Expert B Class where Guy Kendrew and Richard Timperley are within a point of each other. Kendrew has been in the top three in every round during 2011 whilst Timperley slipped to 5th in Yorkshire. Saturday’s practise sessions are being held between 3-5 pm and the event starts on Sunday at 10am.
