British Grass track Titles decided at Collier Street
On Sunday the British Grasstrack Championships took place at the superb venue of Collier Street and hosted by the Maidstone Aces. The meeting featured some great racing and at the end of the meeting it was Craig Drury who took the 250cc title, Jason Handley the 350cc, Josh Goodwin and passenger Liam Brown in the 500cc Sidecars and Dave Penford who took home the Left Hand Sidecar series.

In the 250cc class Craig Drury produced a superb string of results to leave him in a position where he would only need to finish the Final to win the title. An unfortunate and rather scary crash into the boards left Drury needing medical treatment and a trip to Hospital. It was decided by the fellow riders that the re run of the Final would not take place and allowing Craig Drury to be crowded British 250cc Champion. Second place went to Adam Shipp and third place went to James Childe.

In the 350cc class Jason Handley raced to an almost unbeaten result, winning four of the five races to take the title for the 8th time in his career. Second place in the 350cc class went to Matt Etherington and tom Perry took home the third place honours.

The 500cc Sidecar Class produced some great racing all day long and at the end of the day it was Josh Goodwin and his Passenger Liam Brown that took the title. The Championship win for Goodwin would be his first competitive National Championship. Second place went to Nick Radley and Adam Young, whilst Shaun Harvey and Danny Hogg finished in third place.

The final class of the day was the Left Hand Sidecars and this was to be a family affair with Dave Penfold taking three wins from his five rides ahead of Will Penfold who also took three wins out of five. It was to be Dave penfold and Richard Webb that took the win by 1 point over Will Penfold and Tim Philips, with Paul Marley and Nick Barker in third place.
