Maxxis British Championship rolls into Foxhill on 24th July
With just over a week remaining until round six of the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship rolls into the famous Foxhill Moto Parc venue near Swindon (24th July), the excitement is beginning to build. The biggest and most prestigious Domestic Championship in the World will be rolling into Foxhill Moto Parc as the championship heats up to near boiling point. A venue steeped in Motocross history having played host to some of the biggest race meeting in the world during the 1990’s. On July 24th some of the Worlds very best Motocross riders will be attacking the valleys in front of a packed crowd to make their own piece of history.

After the hugely exciting opening five round of the Championship the action at the Foxhill Moto Park is sure to be white hot as the championship heads into the final three rounds. The MX2 class is currently being headed by Arnaud Tonus on his Bike It Cosworth Wild Wolf Yamaha ahead of his American team mate Zach Osborne, both ride in the high profile World Championship series. Third place is Elliott Banks-Browne in his Pulse Racing DB Honda. Last year’s event winner Jake Nicholls will be looking to repeat last year’s performance after returning from a broken ankle at the start of the season and a recent string of strong results in the World Championship and his fine second overall finish at the previous round at Desertmartin in Ireland. Returning to racing at Foxhill after a two year hiatus from top level racing is the Gloucester based Lewis Gregory onboard the Maxxis Apico Suzuki.

In the MX1 class Brad Anderson, the 2009 British Champion is currently holding a commanding lead in the championship on his PAR Honda following a superb showing at the previous round where he produced a hat-trick of wins to stun the crowd. Youngster Kristian Whatley on the Samsung Yamaha currently sits in second position in the Championship and will be looking to close the gap on Anderson. Irish rider, Martin Barr riding for the Proppa.com KTM currently sits in third place will do all he can to close the gap on Whatley as the championship begins to near a close. Foxhill will also mark the return of Chippenham based rider Tom Church to the series as he make his debut onboard his HM Plant Red Bull KTM UK machine following a split from the Buildbase CCM team.

Foxhill will also feature the Veterans championship second round as some of the sports past heroes compete for the 2011 title. Current championship leader Greg Henson will be looking to increase the gap over Brian Wheeler in second and Terry House in third place.

The action will be starting at 9am with the MX2 practice and qualifying session, so for a full day of action packed racing make sure to get yourself down to Foxhill for the biggest motocross meeting of the summer at this famous racing venue. Foxhill is situated on the eastern side of Swindon and will be clearly marked from the A4117. Admission Price £20 for Adults and £5 for kids and a family ticket priced at £45.
