Defending Trophy winner from 2010 Brad Anderson had returned along with many others including several of the local Premier Championship riders John May, Luke Hill, Belgium star Maarten Cremers plus many others, but unfortunately there were several of the countries finest riders who were hoping to compete were missing after they had picked up injuries at the British Championship the previous weekend, but never the less there was still plenty of other talent on hand on what was a well prepared track and with a thousand plus spectators in attendance it proved to be a brilliant evening of racing.

As the Darley Moor Motorcycle Road Race Championship enters its second half of the season on Sunday 24th July 2011, it appears that several classes have hot favourites to take the title, while others are far from over and will most definitely still be up for grabs as the final round approaches. BYMX round five at Canada Heights has ACU Events in the organisational hot seat but the iconic Kent circuit takes a weekend lashing from the elements. Thankfully day two has less rain on offer and the famous old course holds up wonderfully well. The championship continues to boil and there are superb overall wins for Alexander Brown (65s) and Conrad Mewse (SW85s) as they tighten their grip. It's a different story in the other two divisions however with series leaders Liam Knight (BW85s) and Nathan Watson (Youth Open) both now having mounting pressure to deal with as the title chasers close in.

Sticky Sussex clay at round 6 of the British Clubman Sidecar Championship led to more than one motor going bang and clutches burning out! This unfortunately applied to the current series leaders, Neil and Michael Franks, who after a storming win in race 1 were forced to retire on the penultimate lap in the second calling a halt to their day! With the other teams close to them in the table also suffering problems they still are leading the championship and amazingly only dropping two points to Dave Goddard and Scott Cooper in second place.

A sun kissed Oulton Park is always a nice place to be, but it is a circuit that demands that you on your best form to get results. You need a good grid position, and for your mind to be focused to come out on top at the demanding Cheshire circuit. So when your day starts off with your machine catching fire, you do not expect to end the day with your maiden win, and the performance of the day award. That though is exactly what happened to the team Ballard Racing BIS crew of Paul Corfield and Ritchie Bleackley.
