McCanney and Evans lead the way in Europe
At the weekend Britain’s top Enduro riders headed to Comanesti in Romania for Round 2 of the UEM European Enduro Championship. Following on his win at the opening round Danny McCanney was looking to continue on in fine form in the E2/E3 Junior championship. Greg Evans was also looking to move forward in the E2 Senior Championship from second place.

The weekend featured a long 45 mile course and it suited the British riders across the two days. In the E1 Junior class Jack Rowland had a strong weekend riding to a 12th on the opening day, then on the second day he was able to produce a superb 4th place. The second days results helped move the youngster into fifth place in the championship.

In the E2/E3 Junior Class Danny McCanney continued his fine form in the European Championship with a Second place on the opening day and then winning the second day. McCanney’s strong start to season sees him sitting at the top of Championship with a 19 point lead over second place. Also in the E2/E3 Junior Championship Jonny Walker suffered a costly time penalty on the first day but was able to make up for it on the Sunday with a great 3rd place to leave him in 4th place in the Championship after two rounds. Ashley Wood also posted a strong 8th place on day 1 followed by a 15th place and currently sits in 8th place in the standings, while Lewis Belfield came away with 14th and 12th place finishes on the two days for 18th in the Championship.

In the E2 Senior Class Greg Evans collected two superb victories across the weekend. Evans victories have placed the KTM rider in first place in the championship with an 8 point lead. Unfortunately Jordon Rose suffered problems on the opening day and failed to score points, but on the Sunday he was able to record an 11th place finish for 7th in the championship.
