2011 British GP - Supermoto Racing Silverstone
Tuesday June 28, 2011
Once again Supermoto featured on the events timetable for the Air Asia British Grand Prix at the Silverstone Circuit in 2011. The Supermoto racing was flanked with stunt shows from world Championship Trials rider Dougie Lampkin and the popular Craig Jones Stuntman, with the Californian Superbikes Pillion rides also running throughout the day.
Friday was open practice for all the groups, and the day finished with a shoot out for the top fifteen fastest riders. There were four or five riders nominated for the riding with style award, which went to Richard Sharp, while the most notable crash went to Richard Blakeman in the absence of Chris Walker who benefited from the treatment at the Dr Costa medical centre. Lee Williams also collected a new tyre for the fastest lap on the day. Saturday saw excellent racing on the tight but fast flowing circuit, while
Sunday was wet racing for all concerned and the Moto GP would have the same considerations over the difficult surface conditions, but the racing was as close as ever and the Supermoto boys had far less fallers than in the Moto GP.

Friday June 10, 2011
MotoRescue is a breakdown and recovery service for motorcycle enthusiasts where simply missing a race competition is not an option. In the event that your vehicle breaks down en route to a race event that you are competing in MotoRescue will get your vehicle and your passengers to the event and home again if a repair cannot be carried out whilst you are your race meeting. The scheme was developed by Autohome Assistance, a motor club that celebrated 40 years of service this year, in conjunction with the ACU.

There was glorious Sunshine at round four of the British Supermoto Championships, and this round was kindly sponsored by Dave Clark Racing. A busy schedule for Saturday saw over a hundred riders out on track, and as ever there were battles in every race. A similar scenario on Sunday, but the weather wasn’t so kind and the racing was a mixed bag of wet and dry races.

The Easter break and brilliant sunshine saw really good entries in all classes for the second round of the British Supermoto Championship at the Three Sisters Circuit in Wigan. The conditions stayed perfect all weekend and led to really close racing and an action packed weekend for those watching. Tony Brock and Alison made a return to the paddock and collected over £600 in sponsorship for a forthcoming Charity Bicycle ride in aid of The Mountain Rescue Team who so ably assisted him with his injury last year.
