BLISTERING ACTION AND HEAT AT DARLEY

Around all the race circuits across the country there are signs highlighting that ‘Motor Sport is Dangerous’, but at Round 4 of Darley Moor Motorcycle Road Race Club’s Championship on Sunday 26th June, if sensible precautions were not taken it could have been dangerous just spectating with temperatures reaching 28 degrees Celsius!
Sam Lowes wins the Buildbase Mallory Park Race of the Year

PARKALGAR HONDA’S Sam Lowes took a hard-fought victory in the Buildbase Mallory Park Race of the Year, scoring a new Supersport lap record at the same time in very hot and slippery track conditions.
New Powerbike lap record set with adverse weather at Silverstone

With championship leader Rob McNealy absent in the MRO Powerbikes, two overall wins and an additional class win for Michael Neeves saw him close the gap at the top of the standings to just 20 points. A fact made all the sweeter with a new Bemsee Powerbike lap record set along the way.

John Dickinson asked in his Editorial in TMX on June 10th

In his Article basically about the TT, John made mention of the fact that there still appears to be a degree of misunderstanding by a majority of people, including ACU Members, regarding the ACU and ACU Events Ltd., especially considering the similarity in the names of the companies and the individuals linked to both bodies.
ACU EVENTS LTD ANNOUNCES THE SENIOR OFFICIALS APPOINTMENTS FOR 2012 ISLE OF MAN TT RACES

ACU Events Ltd has undertaken a comprehensive review of the senior race officials ahead of the 2012 Isle of Man TT Races, which is scheduled to run from May 28th to June 8th 2012.

The review will see Gary Thompson MBE BEM appointed as Clerk of the Course. Gary has been General Secretary of the ACU since 2003 and was formerly a serving officer in the Army. He has been involved in the TT Races since 2008 when ACUE was formed, originally as Secretary of the Meeting and latterly as Deputy Clerk of the Course.

McGuinness secures 17th TT win

John McGuinness won a thrilling PokerStars Senior race on Friday evening when he came from behind to take his 17th TT victory in the final race of the 2011 Isle of Man TT Races fuelled by Monster Energy in a new Race Record time of 1:45.45.80, beating Steve Plater’s 2009 time.

MotoRescue is a breakdown and recovery service for motorcycle enthusiasts where simply missing a race competition is not an option. In the event that your vehicle breaks down en route to a race event that you are competing in MotoRescue will get your vehicle and your passengers to the event and home again if a repair cannot be carried out whilst you are your race meeting. The scheme was developed by Autohome Assistance, a motor club that celebrated 40 years of service this year, in conjunction with the ACU.

Holden and Winkle secure maiden TT win in Sure Sidecar race

John Holden and Andy Winkle won their first Isle of Man TT Races fuelled by Monster Energy on Thursday when they took the second 3-lap Sure Sidecar race 2 after long time leaders Klaus Klaffenbock and Daniel Sayle hit problems on the final lap. The Austrian ex-World Champion held a 17 second lead starting the third and final lap but he slowed dramatically and Holden and Winkle took full advantage.

Gary Johnson achieved his first Isle of Man TT Races victory when he clinched the second Monster Energy Supersport race on Thursday afternoon winning by 8.4s from fellow Honda rider John McGuinness.

Wednesday's race action at the 2011 Isle of Man TT Races fuelled by Monster Energy was brought to an abrupt end when the second Monster Energy Supersport race was red flagged due to rain around the Mountain Course. Having already been postponed from 10.45am until 12.40pm, when the race did get underway, riders were warned of damp patches all around the course.

Sedgeway Racing Motoczysz remain the team to beat in the 2011 Isle of Man SES TT Zero race with both of their riders – Mark Miller and Michael Rutter – sitting on top of the qualifying session. Conditions were perfect for the second practice as all nine of the bikes for Wednesday’s Race lined up on the grid on Glencrutchery Road
Anstey powers to victory in Monster Energy Supersport 1 TT

Experienced Kiwi campaigner Bruce Anstey won his 8th Isle of Man TT race on Monday afternoon when he clinched victory in a shortened, and dramatic, 3-lap Monster Energy Supersport Race 1. The original race was red flagged following an incident at Gorse Lea.

TT winner Ryan Farquhar has been ruled out of the rest of the 2011 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy due to injuries suffered in a practice fall.

The KMR Kawasaki rider came off at Keppel Gate in the closing stages of Friday’s practice session, the last of the week.
THREE IN A ROW FOR KLAFFENBOCK/SAYLE WITH SURE SIDECAR RACE 1 VICTORY

'Speechless' McGuinness admits he never thought he'd win a Superbike TT again

However, the Morecambe star returned to form in stunning style during Saturday’s Dainese Superbike TT, the opening race of the 2011 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy.

ACU PR Department Takes Control ACU Website

With effect 1st June, the ACU PR Department has taken over the management of the ACU website and will be promoting grassroots sports held under the ACU banner. The PR Department would be very grateful therefore if Clubs and Centres within the ACU could supply any details of upcoming events and activities by email to pr@acu.org.uk that they would like to see published on the ACU website.
Guy Martin 'comfortable and confident' ahead of 2011 Dainese Superbike TT

Guy Martin says he is feeling ‘comfortable and confident’ ahead of the first race of the 2011 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy.

He will ride the Relentless Suzuki by TAS Racing GSX-R1000 in the six-lap Dainese Superbike race on Saturday and with the second fastest Superbike lap recorded in practice so far, Martin must be considered one of the favourites.

John McPhee has been awarded Wild Card at British GP

The ACU Road Race Department are happy to announce that young 16 year old Scot John McPhee has been accepted as a Wild Card entry for the 125cc class at the British GP, being held at Silverstone on the 11th and 12th June. The RSF-backed KRP rider received the FIM approved entry following being nominated by the ACU.

Anstey tops the times as Amor takes a tumble

A dry, sunny evening met the competitors for Tuesday evening’s qualifying session and, apart from a stiff a breeze, conditions were almost perfect for the second night of the 2011 Isle of Man TT Races fuelled by Monster Energy.
