McGuinness fastest after 1st Practice
Tuesday May 31, 2011
The fastest man during the opening practice session of the 2011 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy has revealed there was a last minute panic before he took to the Mountain course.

John McGuinness, who set the top time during Monday evening’s rain-hit practice session, said he was unable to find his back protector as the session neared and had to borrow one from Honda TT Legends teammate Keith Amor.

The 15-times TT winner admitted it had caused ‘a bit of a panic’ ahead of the first taste of Mountain course action, but hadn’t affected his performance.

Isle of Man TT Races 2011
Saturday May 28, 2011

So - it's here! We are just 48 hours away from the first practice session of the 2011 Isle of Man TT Races.

John McGuiness will be the first man to hustle a motorcycle down Bray Hill in this years TT.  The 15 times race winner and outright lap record holder (131.57 mph) has opted to start at number one in all five solo races.  The position is not always the most popular as the first on the roads is the first to encounter any damp patches or other potential hazards, but McGuiness is famed for his rapid first laps where he often breaks the opposition by setting a blistering pace and, with a clear road ahead of him, he has the potential to demoralise them even further.  His Honda TT legends team-mate Keith Amor, will be the first man to give chase  inthe opening Dainese Superbike Race as he starts at number 2.
