Halfway stage of the Luscombe Suzuki Leeds Sidecar Trials Championship
This past weekend (2nd & 3rd April) saw the South Birmingham Motorcycle club hold rounds four and five of the 2011 Luscombe Suzuki Leeds Sidecar Trials Championship. With five of the ten championship rounds now complete the series has reached the halfway point.
With a break in the championship now until round six on the 29th May, Robin & Sam Luscombe currently lead the Expert class ahead of Rupert & Chris Kimber in second and Lee Granby & Les Ashby in third place. In the Clubman class the battle for the championship sees David Tuck and Steve Chandler hold a 13 point lead over Ali & Amelia Haigh who currently sit in second place. The pairing in third are Phil Sparkes and Roger Tuck who have only competed in three of the five rounds so far, but have taken victory in all three rounds which they have competed in.
In the Intermediate class sees the top 3 pairs are separated by only 5 points. The current championship leaders are Tony Crabtree & Kevin Howe only 3 points ahead of Daryl Dale & Harriet Shore in second. The third place in championship is currently be held by Peter Dale & Barry Pocock. The Newcomers championship is being headed by David Nourish & Andrew Wright after winning every event so far.
The sixth round of the Luscombe Suzuki Leeds Sidecar Trials Championship will take place on 29th May as part of the Tuck Cross Sidecar Trial.
