100 YEARS OF HISTORY - NINE DAYS OF CELEBRATION With the Scottish Six Day Trial (SSDT) celebrating its centenary the event promises to be an explosion of activity and entertainment for both riders and spectators alike. The famous West End car park will benefit from the introduction of the SSDT marquee situated at the north-eastern end, which will form a focal point for the event during the week. With another four day weekend coming up, this weeks ‘What’s on Weekly’ features more events from around the country. With a number of events taking place under the ACU banner, here is a selection of just a few.
Due to a Protest, which was upheld, there will be no points awarded to classes B, C & D, following the Bemrose Trial, held on 20th March, and this round will not count towards the Championship.
For riders in these classes, the event will be considered as not being held and riders will be able to drop another score in the final classification.
On the 1st April the clubs within the Isle of Man Centre came to for an awards and fund raising evening at the Douglas Legion Club. With around 150 people in attendance for the evening, a good night was had by all.

Round 3 of the ACU Events sponsored British Trials Championships saw the long trek north to the Macdonald Trial just outside of Kinlochleven and deep in the heart of SSDT countryside.
A long journey for many maybe but the Lochaber run event now under the stewardship of Ally Morrice is always worth the trip. Sundays event was greeted by fine weather but that would not make the hazards any easier.

The Bluestones Trophy Charity Trial organised by the Staffordshire Moorlands Motorcycle Club was a great success on Sunday.
A record entry of 127 riders donated their entry fees to charity thanks to the Auto Cycle Union who waived the usual insurance premium.
With two rounds of the 2011 ACU Events sponsored trials series now gone things are shaping up nicely. Now it is time to head over the border this coming weekend to Kinlochleven for The Macdonald Trial some 12 miles south of Fort William which is Round 3

This past weekend (2nd & 3rd April) saw the South Birmingham Motorcycle club hold rounds four and five of the 2011 Luscombe Suzuki Leeds Sidecar Trials Championship. With five of the ten championship rounds now complete the series has reached the halfway point.
Round 2 of the ACU Events sponsored British Solo Championships took place last weekend and was hosted by the West of England Club. The Anthony Rew Trial went back to Kelly Farm near to Bovey Tracey in South Devon although the April date was much earlier in the season than normal for this trial. This meant that the organisers had looked at various venues to hold the event before settling on Kelly which consists of plenty of big moss strewn rocks with plenty of loose climbs thrown in.
The Auto Cycle Union (ACU) is calling for DEFRA’s ‘Independent Forestry Panel’ to take off road motorcycle sport seriously as the Government’s Review into future policy for the Forestry Commission commences.
