So far as the Sport Committees are concerned, Brian Higgins and Andy Summers were returned successfully for a further three years to the Motocross Committee, Peter Gregory and Dick Sullivan likewise to the Track Racing Committee and Malcolm Bates and Alan Penny was successfully re-elected to the Trials & Enduro Committee. A vacancy remains on the T&E Committee as the third vacancy was not filled, this will carry forward and be voted on at the next meeting of the National Council being held in May 2011.
Amongst the issues discussed, Mr Bellars announced that the Insurance rates for 2011 for Premier Insurance and Basic Insurance would remain the same as for 2010 and was pleased to announce that Road Racing Test Day insurance per capita rate per head had been reduced to £6.40.
Chairman Jim Parker coming to the end of his chairmanship after seven years thanked everyone for their support since his appointment in December 2003. He said that a lot had been achieved during his time as Chairman and hoped that this would continue in the future. Although Mr Parker will stand down as Chairman of ACU Ltd and ACU Events Ltd at the end of this year, he will continue as the Managing Director of ACU Events Ltd working on the continual development of the Motocross track at Milton Malsor which ACUE leased earlier this year. The track regarded as one of the top three tracks in the country will nex year host a round of the prestigious MAXXIS ACU British Motocross championships on 1st May and a round of the BYMX Motocross Championships. Mr Parker will also play a key role in the Isle of Man TT Races as the Race Director.
