Regulations are Available 12th December Metzeler Melville Hare and Hound
The regulations are now available for the Metzeler Melville Scottish Hare and Hound Championship on the 12th December at Lochhouses Farm near Dunbar in East Lothian. Although this event is staged in 2010 it counts as the first round of the 2011 SACU Scottish Hare and Hound Championship, this ensures the 2011 Champions can be crowned at the SACU presentation in November.
For the first time you can enter on-line with www.entrycentral.com , no envelopes, no postage and no cheques or paperwork to send, you will receive an e mail of conformation by return upon successful completion of your details with a credit card payment. You must have a competition licence and you can still enter by the traditional method downloading a form at www.melvillemc.co.uk or www.scottishenduros.co.uk. Entry Central was successfully piloted by the Borders Enduro Club and the Melville is now hoping there will be at least 60% of the riders take advantage of the new system. Entry Central was set up for bicycle racing and has coped with entries of over 300 riders. If this system proves successful the Melville Club will extend it to other disciplines.
This Hare and Hound is the finale to a year of successful events for the Melville Club, the team led by Stephen Gilhooley will make a huge effort to make sure the event is as enjoyable as possible. The 15 minute lap consists of two sandy fields and a large wood, most riders should finish and the sandy ground stands up well despite the Scottish weather.
The classes for the three hour race mirror the Enduro Classes with Expert, Over 40, Clubman, Clubman B, and Sportsman. Within the three hour race there is a Motocross Class that runs for two hours and their lap steers clear of the woods, following only the motocross track in the sandy fields. There is an A and B class for the Motocrossers although this does not count towards the Scottish Hare and Hound Championship.
This event always proves very popular therefore it is important to get your entry accepted early, there is a limit to the numbers and last year several classes were full before the closing date, do not delay there are places available for riders of all abilities and we even had a couple of classic bikes enter last year.
I look forward to seeing you there.
