In warm sunshine, Event Manager, Di Thompson and the Series Paddock Co Ordinator, Chris Sprawson spent a few hours at the Farleigh Castle venue today measuring the Paddock Area, Car Parks and Trade Area. Our photograph shows them both outside of the circuit discussing the Traffic Management plan after reporting the rest of the site to be ready to go.
The area known as the "International Paddock" will be for the non team trucks and will be in a prime area, next to the track, whilst the teams, (with their bigger units) will be situated just inside the main gate and adjacent to the "work area". After making the long train journey from Doncaster to Trowbridge (via Penzance but that is another story) Chris commented, " Having such a large flat area is good and of course we have to accommodate over forty Veteran riders at this event. The service road is a major asset and I am confident that everyone will be parked relatively close to the circuit, Waiting Zone and Work Area."
The team from the organising club move into the green field site early next week to build the track for an event which is likely to be crucial to all teams and riders with title aspirations. We hope to have photographs on Monday evening of progress.
Di Thompson concluded, " There has been very little rain in the area for the past two months and the circuit is very hard and dry. All of the top riders have entered and we have devised a good Traffic Management plan using the service road throughout the site and I am confident all will be in place and readty to go on Friday week. Judging by the amount enquiries we have had this is likely to be a bumper event as so many people have fond memories of Farleigh Castle."
