Masters Update

"The ACU would like to congratulate the ASTRA Club and its small band of helpers for putting on a superb event on Sunday, they made the British Masters a wonderful showcase for British Track Racing.

During the meeting a number of unfortunate racing incidents took place, and the latest position with the injured riders is as follows:-
Paul Cooper - Can now walk with crutches and is expected to be home within the next 24-48 hours.
Lewis Denham - released from hospital and recovering at home with a back brace.
Rob Mear  - released from hosptial and recovering at home
Steve Smith  - bruised and sore but ok

The Track Racing Committee and the ACU wish all injured riders a speedy recovery.

Following these incidents racing was suspended for 90 minutes to allow the medical team to provide the correct treatment to the injured riders, and as a consequence of this delay the meeting officials decided to cancel the fourth set of heats to ensure a timely completion of the event.

The ACU would like to thank all the spectators for their patience during this delay, and apologise for having to reduce the number of qualifying heats following the delay."
