THE ACU continues to go from strength to strength and recently signed up a bloc of seven motocross clubs from the South West region which it welcomes with open arms.
New clubs to the ACU are the Chard Motox Club, Plymouth & East Cornwall MXC, Teignbridge Motox Club, South West Devon MCC, South Hams MCC, Dartmoor MCC and the Three Counties Offroad Motorcycle Club – all joining the ACU in November.
ACU Deputy Chairman Brian Higgins said: “It is a warm welcome to the new South West Centre clubs that have joined the ACU. Already the whole South West Centre has managed to work on its 2010 dates and it is a real pleasure working with these clubs.
“Whether it is by offering the most comprehensive insurance or event assistance, the ACU is second to none in supporting its clubs and we all share the same objective – to organise the very best events possible and provide the most enjoyment for competitors and spectators alike.
“Over the last 12-months the ACU has made big improvements and reduced red tape and that is attracting clubs to join us - and that in turn strengthens the sport in the UK.”
Pat Chambers, Secretary to the Teignbridge Club and Area Secretary for South West Off-road explains why her club(s) joined the ACU: “We felt that the way the ACU runs things is better than other organisations. We like the way the ACU insurance works and the paperwork was much more thorough.”
Any club wanting to talk about the advantages of ACU affiliation should speak to General Secretary Gary Thompson directly on 01788 566414.
