Will Connolly be the King of the Mountain?

Tuesday June 2, 2009 at 12:38pm

The R&G Racing Suzuki GSX-R Trophy produced some superb racing at Snetterton last time out and the man who really put his stamp on the meeting was Ross Connolly who took three wins out of four. Can he do it again at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire?

The 27-year old Sales Manager from Blackpool has a good hold on the Championship already and it is only two rounds old. Connolly is 19 points clear of second place rider Mark Cheetham who has so far been his closest rival.

Trophy regulars Ross Richards and Chris Hawkes have had a shock to the system with the pace and late braking from the two front running new comers. That said Richards and Hawkes are in third and fourth places respectively in the Championship standings.

Cadwell always produces interesting racing and with the antics from the R&G Racing Suzuki GSX-R Trophy riders it is sure to be thrilling. The tight turns will see the hard brakers out doing each other and the Mountain will benefit the brave.

Can Connolly keep the momentum? Will he remain in the lead? You’ll have to wait until the lights go out.

The third round of the R&G Racing Suzuki GSX-R Trophy will take place at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire on the 6th-7th June.
