Red Bull KTM factory rider Shaun Simpson is recovering well from an operation to address his leg injury sustained during a training accident on Wednesday.
The incident happened at the Ersel practice facility in Holland. Once he had been stabilised in a local hospital his team manager Stefan Everts had him transferred to a hospital in Eeklo, Belgium where he was to be treated by sports specialist Doctor Ghyjselings.
Simpson has a fracture of the tibia 75mm above the ankle joint and three separate factures to his Fibula. It appears that the surgery has been a success and Shaun will now concentrate on making a full recovery.
