Officials of the Merthyr Motor Club will hold key positions in the Trial. Mr Dai Bedford is Clerk of Course with his Assistant Martin Price. Mrs Kay Bedford is the Secretary of the Meeting. The organising team will lay out the three lap, fifteen section course for which a total time allowance of five and hours is set for all riders to complete the event.
Mr Bedford and Mr Price have recovered the sections which were utilised in the 1990 F.I.M. World Championship Trial. These sections will certainly test the Championship contenders. Twenty year old Scarborough electrician, and F.I.M. World Junior Cup Champion Michael Brown heads the standings after winning in Scotland and South Wales. 33 year old reigning Champion Graham Jarvis aims to get his Championship quest back on track in the Welsh hills on Sunday.
17 year old Halifax contender Jack Challoner shares the Expert title standings with Lynton graphics designer Joe Baker. Both have scored a win and a second place in the first two events.
Challoner also heads the 125cc class on his Beta-UK,Com machine.
Practice will start on Saturday at 3.00 pm until 5.00 pm. The trial will start at 10.00 am on Sunday morning.
