TV cameras at Ladies Training Day Bracken Rocks
Saturdays ACU’s Ladies Trials Training Day at Bracken Rocks, Nr Matlock will be featured on National TV as part of the new Bingo Lotto Lottery show!
Bingo Lotto is an exciting new lottery and TV game which will be hitting the airwaves on Friday 29th February. The new Lottery will give at least 20% from the sale of each £2 Lottery Gamecard to good causes in the UK. The Auto-Cycle Union Ltd (ACU) is one of the selected beneficiaries chosen to receive funds through Central Council of Physical Recreation (CCPR), the only condition being that the money is used to support and develop grass roots motorcycle sport.
The game will have a primetime Friday night slot on Virgin1 (channel 153 on Sky, channel 122 on Virgin and channel 20 on Freeview) and Challenge (Sky channel 124 and channel 152 on Virgin) from 7 to 8pm and will provide interactive challenges for players as well as the chance to win a variety of prizes. The game will be hosted by comedian Joe Pasquale.
The Trials Training Day on Saturday 16th February provided camera crews with a perfect opportunity to film both new competitors at grass roots level and World Championship competitors such as Becky Cook and Donna Fox.
The crews spent around five hours at the venue filming riders from as young as six years old, embarking on their first season of Trials riding and being taught the more basic skills of machine control and balance, before turning their cameras to riders competing at World, European and British Championship level.
During the lunchtime break, World No. 3 Becky Cook and ACU Coach and Colin Appleyard British Trials Championship competitor Michael Phillipson were interviewed. Becky and Michael were asked about the amount of training required to achieve their skill and fitness levels and also about the satisfaction and enjoyment gained by taking part in events and passing their knowledge onto younger riders.
The footage taken at Bracken Rocks is scheduled to be shown in the second programme of BingoLotto on 7th March 2008.
