Final Round of the 2007 Colin Appleyard British Trials Championship

Wednesday October 3, 2007 at 12:00am

This crucial final round is where Graham Jarvis hopes to retain his British title. The outcome of the aptly named ‘Battle of the Pennines’ centres totally on whether Preston challenger Shaun Morris has recovered from a serious eye injury sustained less than three weeks ago. If Shaun is not totally fit, or does not ride, then Harrogate based Jarvis does not even have to ride the final. If Morris rides, and wins, and Scarborough’s Michael Brown finishes ahead of Jarvis then the title goes over the Pennines, to Preston.

In the Expert Class, Barnstaple rider Joe Baker must put his Birkett Scorpa in ninth place or better to take the title, but Bewdley teenager Ross Danby must win to pressure Baker. Danby has already taken the 125cc title riding his J.S.T. Gas Gas machine.
