The ACU Dunlop Tyres MotoStar Cup will see the first British Championship races at the circuit, in the form of the Replicast UK Bikesport News British 250 Championship and the Yokohama ACU FSRA British F2 Sidecar Championship.

Alongside these will be a variety of classes that offer novice Road Racers the opportunity to compete against experienced racers on track and receive expert coaching from former Grand Prix racers at each Round.

The Sports Production 80 and 125cc classes allows the ACU’s youngest competitors from the age of 12 years old to battle it out on the track, with machines that you need to be at least 17 years of age before you can ride them on the road.

The Colin Appleyard 125 Academy Cup and GP125 Open classes are for bikes that will be similar to those with which Britain’s youngest Grand Prix competitor 17 year old Bradley Smith earns his living on.  The Colin Appleyard Academy Cup, for standard GP machines, is the Championship that launched Bradley’s International career.

The ACU Suzuki GSX-R Trophy is a unique Championship that was originally aimed at persuading track day enthusiasts to apply for their first ACU Road Race licence.  For a cost of £12,040 the riders have received a road race licence, (plus free Competitive Training Course, normally £50, if novice licence holder), road race leathers, gloves, boots, Suzuki GSX-R 600, with all tyres and brake pads required for the season and all race entry fees paid for!  The only costs for the rider to pay are fuel for each race and repair for any crash damage incurred throughout the season.  Unlike some Championships that ask for a one-off payment, the rider also owns the bike - they do not need to hand it back at the end of the season!  The Series offered such a complete package that many experienced racers also entered the Championship, giving the track day enthusiasts a benchmark, but this has also proved that some of the enthusiasts should have taken up racing before!

Supporting the ACU Dunlop Tyres MotoStar Cup is the ACU Clubmans Open Championship for any machine from 175cc upwards and with riders in this class not having a registration fee, it often receives entries from local riders entering a one off meeting and surprising the regular riders as they seek the 1st place prize of £200.
