FIM MERIDIAN LIFTS BRITISH SPEEDWAY GRAND PRIX

CHRIS Harris became only the third British rider to win a Grand Prix with his magnificent triumph at the Millennium Stadium.
One of the sport's greatest-ever meetings came down to an almost unbelievable finale as Harris worked his way to the front against Leigh Adams, Jason Crump and Greg Hancock.
It was the first British win since Martin Dugard was victorious at Coventry as a Wild Card way back in 2000, with former World Champion Mark Loram the only other previous British winner.
Harris now moves into the top five in the overall standings, the win being the high spot of a remarkable debut season in the Grand Prix.
He said: "Everyone wants to win at Cardiff and I'm lucky enough to be the one to have done it. It's such a long time since there's been a British winner and it's great to end that record.
