Following the abandonment of Round 3 of the ACU Dunlop Tyres MotoStar Cup at Silverstone due to heavy rain, the ACU Road Race Committee are delighted to announce a schedule of replacement Championship races for the ACU Suzuki GSX-R Trophy, Yokohama ACU FSRA British FII Sidecar Championship, Replicast UK Bikesport News British 250 Championship, Motrac Sports Production 125 MotoStar Championship and Sports Production 80 MotoStar Championship
The ACU Suzuki GSX-R Trophy, Motrac Sports Production 125 and Sports Production 80 replacement races will be held at Round 4 of the Championship at Oulton Park, where the second ‘non-Championship’ race will now become a points scoring Championship race. There will be no additional charge for this race.
The Replicast UK Bikesport News British 250GP Championship replacement race will be help at Round 5 of the Championship - Castle Combe, 28th - 29th July 2007. For riders who entered the abandoned Silverstone round, an entry fee of £75 will be charged for this additional race. For riders who did not enter the abandoned Silverstone round, an entry fee of £100 will be charged for this additional race.
Yokohama ACU FSRA British FII Sidecar Championship crews now have their replacement race scheduled to take place at the Cadwell Park Round of MotoStar (Round 8), 22nd - 23rd September 2007. As with the 250GP class, an entry fee will be charged for this additional race, £75 for Teams who entered Silverstone and £100 for Teams who did not.
The Road Race Committee also agreed that any Joker Cards played at Silverstone will be carried forward and can be re used at any of the remaining MotoStar Rounds (published MotoStar Joker Terms & Conditions apply).
Finally, the Committee have, in response to representations from riders, decided to remove the tyre rule that requires 125GP and 250GP riders to race on a new set of tyres at each round.
The new tyre rule for 125GP and 250GP competitors at MotoStar is:
• Dunlop tyres are the Control Tyre Manufacturers for the MotoStar Cup and only Dunlop Tyres can be used.
• ALL tyres used in Practice, Qualifying, Championship and Non-Championship races must be supplied by Holbeach Motorcycle Tyres and carry a security marking from that round or a previous round.
