Date switch for British Motocross Grand Prix

Friday February 24, 2006 at 12:00am
The British Grand Prix has attracted crowds of over 30,000 fans in the last two years and the June fixture is set to take place at a brand new circuit called Matterley Basin just outside of Winchester and less than a kilometre away from the site of the Homelands Music festival.

Construction of the track, designed by Johnny Douglas Hamilton, will begin in April. “We are full steam ahead with the plans for the Grand Prix and the date change was not too much hassle at all,” said event co-ordinator and manager of the Bike it Yamaha racing team Steve Dixon. “It has actually worked out to be an easier situation for the teams otherwise there would have been a lot of miles to cover.” “We are settled on the date and the circuit structure is in place so we hope to announce more details regarding ticketing and entertainment very soon via the media and also on the official website which will be active shortly,” he added. Tickets are on sale now with special early booking offers: 0845 456 6536
