Herlings and Simpson dominate the Be Wiser Hawkstone International
The first weekend of February saw the Be Wiser Hawkstone International take place at the famous Hawkstone Park circuit. Even following heavy rain on the Saturday prior to race day, the track remained in good condition and produced some fantastic racing in all three classes.

In the MX1 class it was top Brit Shaun Simpson who claimed the overall victory across the two races. After taking the holeshot in the opening race of the day, Simpson than stalled the machine in the second corner and mounted a spirited ride from the back to take third place at the finish behind Clement Desalle and Brad Anderson. The second race saw a problem free opening lap as the Scot pushed his way into the lead mid race and took the race win over Ben Townlely and overall victory ahead of Desalle in second and Ben Townley in third.

In the MX2 class it was Dutchman Jeffrey Herlings who dominated the class taking two race wins and the overall ahead of KTM teammate Davy Pootjes in second overall and British star Max Anstie in third overall on the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory machine. Fellow Brit Ben Watson also produced two good results to claim fourth overall.

The mixed class Super Final saw Jeffrey Herlings once again dominate with a commanding race win after Max Anstie crashed out of the lead mid race. Second place went to Simpson on the first of the MX1 machines with Kevin Strijbos in third, Clement Desalle fourth and Ben Watson fifth on the second MX2 machine.

Also supporting the two main classes was the MXY2 class which saw Henry Williams claim all three race wins ahead of Michael Ellis in second and Jack Bintcliffe in third overall. Taylor Hammel finished the day fourth overall and was the highest 125cc machine overall.
