Countdown to the ACU British Sprint Enduro Championship begins
With less than a month to go before the opening round of the 2016 ACU British Sprint Championship event details have been released by the new sprint promoters, Fast Eddy Racing.

After last season's cancellation of championship sprint events they are back for 2016 with a four round championship that will take riders from the South to the North. New classes, two timed tests (with transponders) and different start formats are all ways that organiser Paul Edmondson has set up to improve and help the championship move forward.

Each event will feature two types of special test, one being MX and the other Enduro. The plan is to allow all riders a sighting lap on each test followed by six timed tests giving a total of twelve timed tests per day with around a total test time of one and a half hours.

Another added bonus is that day 1 will not start until 11.00 am therefore allowing riders who travel time to leave their homes on Saturday morning! This is something that the promoter hopes will help keep the series strong and sensible for all riders wishing to participate in this year's championship.

The new look 2016 series also has a breakdown of Championship, Expert and Clubman classes into E1, E2 and E3 divisions with a winner in each and an overall winner of the class, emulating the British Enduro Championship. The series also sees classes for Sportsman, Youth 12-16, Veterans and Ladies.

There will be two groups of riders. Group One will consist of the Sportsman, Youth 12-16, Veterans and Ladies and will start each round on the MX test while group Two will hold the Championship, Expert and Clubman riders who will start each round on the Enduro test.

All riders will be allowed one sighting lap, which will be followed by six timed laps on each test each day. The fastest rider after the first test will start first, no matter what class that rider is in, followed by the second fastest and so on. Each run will start in the same manner with fastest rider from the previous test going first.

The series starts at Rogers Hill Raceway on March 19-20th then moves to the superb H2O venue for round two over the weekend of 30th April/1st May. Round three goes North to Westwood near Sheffield on May 21-22nd with the final round venue on 9-10th July to be announced shortly.

The start times are as follows: Saturday will start at 11.00am with a sighting lap while Sunday will start at 9.30am with a sighting lap.

Pre-paid entry costs for the weekend is £100 for two days or £60 for one day. There will be transponder timing at all events for all riders.
