ACU British Quad Championship set for six rounds in 2016
Date and venues for the 2016 ACU British Quad Championship have been confirmed with the opening round to be staged at Cusses Gorse on the 3rd of April.

The six round series then travels to the superb ex-Grand Prix track of Desertmartin in Northern Ireland, before coming back to the mainland for rounds at Armthorpe, Pontrilas, Dean Moor and Canada Heights.

The series will once again work closely with the NORA-MX club, which will host three rounds, with Quad Racing Ireland, NETT and Sidcup MCC the other organising clubs.

Two rounds will double up with ACU British Sidecar Championship rounds – the final round at Canada Heights and the NETT club’s Connor Smith Memorial meeting at Dean Moor.

Series Manager Rob McDonnell said: “I’m delighted with the tracks we have secured, which are all top class venues and give us a good geographical spread as well.

“We are excited to be going to Armthorpe for the first time, and it's good to be returning to Pontrilas.

“It has taken a little time to finalise the calendar, as the sidecar GP dates kept moving, which in turn effected the British sidecar dates. “

The championship will once again be contested over three 20-minute plus two laps races at each round, however the points scoring system will revert back to the traditional 25-points-for-a-win scale used by other British championships.

Prize money will be paid at each event, rather than at the end of the season.

2016 ACU British Quad Championship Dates

1. April 3 – Cusses Gorse

2. April 30 – Desertmartin

3. May 29 – Armthorpe

4. July 17 – Pontrilas

5. July 24 – Dean Moor

6. October 2 – Canada Heights

Riders who wish to enter the 2016 championship should email quadrobmcd@gmail.com
for a copy of the championship regulations.

One victim of the sidecar GP date shuffle is the Quad Cross of European Nations, at Gueugnon In France, which has been moved from is original September date to October 8-9, which means it once again clashes with the Weston Beach Race.
