To say the final race was amazing is quite simply an understatement, the Thor British Youth Nationals Open class title went down to the wire.
Up to lap 6 of the very final race of the season both Jordan Eccles and Luke Smith were tying on points for the championship, which meant the title would be decided on the dreaded win countback, a little bit like a penalty shootout in football but without the ball. But that never happened as Luke Smith landed head first into the Fat Cat sand and ended his 2015 championship hopes - insane action to say the least.
Jordan didn’t win the race but did enough to cross the line as the 2015 British champion and fist pumped like a true fist pump warrior.
Third place in the championship went to the ever improving Robbie Dowson who rode his socks off in the deep sand of the final round, George Grigg-Pettitt, Joe Hodgson and Jake Edey all did enough to finish a super competitive year in the top 6 of the British Championship.
