Entries open for the Richmond Motor Club Ltd Scott Trial on October 17th 2015
One hundred and one years ago Alfred Scott's day out in the Yorkshire Dales was a Scott motorcycle testing day out for his Saltaire factory employees.

When C.H. Wood took control as Clerk of Course he decided that the roads in the Kettlewell and Buckden areas of North Yorkshire were too busy accommodating motor cars, so the trial was moved off-road into the Washburn Valley. The Scott Trial, as we know it, was born.

Last year's one hundredth anniversary title was a misnomer. The Kaiser and Adolf Hitler provided eleven years of hostilities plus the massive and damaging foot and mouth epidemic of 2001. So, the Scott Trial survives and on October 17 the focus will be on Richmond, Reeth, Hurst, Arkengarthdale and the battle of the moors.

The entry forms are now out, and the entry list closes on September 4th - Next FRIDAY! The official entry form is on all Tech Press websites now ready to download. The Event Secretary is Diane Horner, Gregsacres, Gunnerside, North Yorkshire, DL11 6JG. The phone number is 01748 886434.

Entries with a special declaration regarding course routing, required by the National Parks Authority, must be on the forms provided. Telephone entries will not be considered.

Since the Richmond Motor Club took over organising the unique and historic trial many thousands of pounds have been donated to local and national charities and the one hundred page programme has become a collector's target.
