CARLESS HEADS TO FOXHILL TO EXTEND PREMIER PRO CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD
This Sunday June 14th the Phoenix Tools Ifly Premier motocross Championship moves up in to Wiltshire to the ironic Foxhill Moto Parc which will host round 4 in the series. There has been great interest for this round as in just 5 weeks this venue will host round 6 of the Maxxis British Championship so there are plenty of wildcards all keen to get a ride.

In the Phoenix Tools Ifly Pro Expert class it’s still Shane Carless (Pictured) on the Oakleaf Motorsport Honda who heads the standings, but his lead was cut to just 8 points at the last round as up in to 2nd is now the Phoenix Tools Ifly Husqvarna of Alfie Smith with the Tony Maunders Racing Suzuki of Jamie Skuse dropping back in to 3rd just 14 points adrift of Smith, but there is plenty of top class talent joining them like fellow Phoenix Tools Ifly Husqvarna rider Alex Snow who is currently lying 6th in the standings and will be looking to get back in contention plus Ross Hill on the Gabriel Insulation Services Suzuki, Tom Moore on the A D Homes/Williams Wulfsport Suzuki, Todd Kellett on the Dave Thorpe Off Road Honda, the Meredith MX Suzuki of Ross Keyworth, Ben Hunt on the GLR Yamaha, Dan Thornhill on the Cab Screens Yamaha with wildcard entries coming from the likes of 2013/2014 defending Champion Luke Hawkins on the Dave Thorpe Off Road Honda, Gradie Featherstone on the Oakleaf Motorsport Honda and making a return on the Crescent Racing KTM after winning the DMX Championship in Dubai will be Jake Shipton who has to be a threat along with many more.

In the Tony Maunders Expert Open Championship it’s now Charlie Putnam on the Phoenix Tools Ifly Husqvarna who heads the Championship from the G V Motorcycles Honda of Ryan Redwood by 3 points with the Hill Power Racing Honda of Luke Hill and David Keet on the Danger UK Honda tied for 3rd just 4 points behind Redwood, but as with the opening couple of rounds there are plenty of other riders that could be a threat including the likes of Josh Taylor, Ben Butler, Sam Gabriel, Jake Penny, Luke Sturgeon and James Kensington to name a few.

In the M D Racing over age classes its defending Over 35 Champion Nick Life on the Gibbs Performance/St Blazey Yamaha who is the man to beat as he has a slender 36 points lead over the ReadyPower KTM of Rick Hanson, but moving up in to 3rd at the last round is now Carl Dezis, where as in the Over 40’s class it’s the Crescent Racing/New Milton Tyres Suzuki of Terry House who is top of the standings from the Cheddar MX Honda of Chris Brown and Richard Green on the T R Green Engineering Yamaha, but they will be joined by many others. In the Over 50’s defending Champion Mark Gleadhill still leads the Championship, but hot on his heels will be the likes of Graham Beale who has taken the overall at the last two rounds and is gradually closing the deficit in 2nd.

In the Tyremarks Junior Championship class it’s the Phoenix Tools Ifly Husqvarna rider Jamie Carpenter who has a commanding lead over Billy King who moved up in to 2nd at the last round with three consistant rides, but just 3 points behind is Harry Mitchell in 3rd who will be looking to do well along with many others.

Foxhill Moto Parc is an excellent viewing track with easy parking and will be signposted just off the M4 Motorway at Junction 15 (Postcode SN4 ODR) with the first race at 10-30am. (There are still a few spaces left in all classes, for more info ring Greta on 01884 840078)
