CREDITON SET TO BE A THRILLER
This Sunday April 19th the Phoenix Tools/Ifly Premier motocross Championship kicks back in to action with round 2 taking place at Crediton Raceway which is a very fast and flowing track and is sure to show a few surprises during the day with some top class racing.

In the Phoenix Tools/Ifly Pro Expert class it’s the Phoenix Tools/Ifly Husqvarna of Alfie Smith who heads the standings after the opening round by 5 points and I’m sure he will be out to try and increase that lead over the Oakleaf Motorsport Honda of  Shane Carless in 2nd with Jamie Skuse onboard the Tony Maunders racing Suzuki in 3rd just one point adrift of Carless, but a rider who will be out to make amends after not the best of opening rounds will be last years runner up Alex Snow on the Phoenix Tools/Ifly Husqvarna who is currently back in 6th place in the standings. Other riders to watch out for will be the likes of Sunny Thompson, Todd Kellett, John May, James Dodd, James Harrison, Ross Hill plus many more.

In the Tony Maunders Expert Open class there was no stopping Ty Kellett on his 2-stroke S J Hodder Husqvarna at the opening round who took a convincing hattrick of wins and he will be the man to beat. Currently lying 2nd in the Championship 14 points behind Kellett is Josh Taylor on the Gibbs Performance KTM with the Hill Power Racing Honda of Luke Hill just 3 points behind in 3rd, but there is plenty of other talent on view including Sam Gabriel, Jake Penny, Luke Sturgeon and James Kensington to name a few.

In the M D Racing over age classes its defending Champion on the Gibbs Performance/St Blazey Yamaha Nick Life who heads the Over 35 Championship with maximum points from the Readypower KTM of Rick Hanson and the Gabriel Insulation Services/Chichester Honda of Stephen Elford where as in the Over 40’s class it’s Terry House on the Crescent Suzuki who heads the proceedings from Richard Green on the T R Green Engineering Yamaha who denied House a hattrick of wins at the opening round with defending Champion Chris Brown on the Cheddar MX Store KTM there in third. In the Over 50’s defending Champion on the 250 2-stroke Honda Mark Gleadhill was to dominate the opening round, but there is just 6 points between Steve Lyons and Sammy Doble who lie 2nd and 3rd in the standings.

In the Tyremarks Junior Championship class its young 15 year old Jamie Carpenter on the Phoenix Tools/Ifly Husqvarna who laid down the gauntlet at the opening round and took maximum points and has a 11 points Championship lead over Luke Craig who heads Billy King by 10 points in 3rd, but as with the other classes there are plenty of other rider all capable of making there mark in the series.

Crediton Raceway is an excellent viewing track with easy parking and will be signposted off the A377 at Crediton with the first race at 10-30am. (There are still a few spaces left in all classes, for more info ring Greta on 01884 840078)
