SANTANDER CONSUMER FINANCE KTM BRITISH JUNIOR CUP

Thursday January 8, 2015 at 12:40pm
KTM and MSVR will host an exciting, single make junior race series in 2015 using a modified version of KTM's new RC 390. The Santander Consumer Finance KTM British Junior Cup will take place at selected MCE British Superbike Championship rounds and is designed for novices but also open to all road race licence holders, aged between 13 and 18-years old (18 years of age on 1 January 2015). Riders that attain 13 years of age during the season can join the Cup at that point, furthermore a special autumn mini-series comprising of the final three events will be established as a forerunner to the 2016 Championship.

The British Junior Cup bike is based on the series production model launched in 2014, but fitted with track-focused official KTM PowerParts and is both directly linked to KTM Racing and its Moto3 project.

With the road bike already boasting sporty credentials, the Junior Cup version takes it to the next level with changes such as fully adjustable WP Suspension, upgraded braking and a big reduction in weight with the removal of unnecessary road equipment. The complete package of the series allows riders to learn all the fundamental skills on and off track. The cost of the KTM 390 Ready to Race is £6,425.00 plus VAT and delivery.

All bike parts are available as KTM PowerParts and the fully adjustable suspension package not only allows for individual set up for each race; it is also a valuable learning tool for suspension setup. The bike has adjustable foot pegs and handlebar levers to fit different ergonomics, making it ideal for young talent that is still growing.

Former British Supersport Champion Steve Plater will return to the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship paddock in 2015 as series ambassador sharing his extensive experience with the sport's upcoming riders.

Series sponsors stickers are concentrated on the front of the bike, leaving the tail and belly pan free for rider personalisation or personal sponsors. As you would expect, the series will also deliver a comprehensive TV and media package.
