ACU British Extreme Championship set to kick off this weekend at the Heads of the Valleys

Wednesday December 10, 2014 at 3:36pm
The stage is looking set for the inaugural Heads of the Valleys Extreme, an event which promises to deliver to the UK a proper Hard Enduro over 2 days of racing.

Walters Arena in South Wales, home of the Dawn to Dusk 24 hour Enduro, is the forestry venue choice for Paul Edmondson and Nick Plumb to create a challenging natural hard Enduro.

The event will be set out over the 13 & 14 December weekend.

Saturday will be the qualifying day where the riders will be given a fire road based test, similar to Erzberg Rodeos Iron Road prologue. Qualifying will sort out the riders starting position for Sunday's main event.

On Sunday, riders will set off in rows of 25 in to the Welsh forest for 3 two hour long laps.

Despite the lap being so long, spectators will not be cut short and the event will be planned to allow the fans to see plenty of action via the forest's many interlinking roads.

The UK has been crying out for a tough traditional winter Enduro similar to the classic Giles Lalay race & Heads of the Valleys Extreme Enduro promises to be 2014's answer to that.

This event will kickstart the 2015 ACU Extreme Enduro Championship, coordinated by Fast Eddy Racing, a series which has grown over the past 4 years and puts the UK's and the world’s best extreme riders racing together. The event is open to all riders and Saturday will also allow rally style bikes compete.
