The 8th round of the Luscombe SAAB Leeds sponsored British Sidecar Championship will take place this Sunday at a sandy Hungry Hill venue near Aldershot. With an entry of 21 sidecars at the closing date and 29 solos things are looking good for the Championship.
In the Expert Championship Jon Tuck and Matt Sparkes have a comfortable 36 point lead over Daryl Dale and Hannah Etherington. In the Intermediate Class things are closer with David Tuck and Steven Chandler just 5 points in front of Karl Jarvis and (Uncle Albert) Bob Chapman. Also in the Clubmans Class the Yorkshire pairing of Chris and Robert Pickard are only 6 points in front of Southampton based Simon Evans and Nick Harding.
Thomas McDowell has the Newcomers Championship in hand but with passenger Jon Stanley recovering from a Heart operation he is not riding this weekend.
One team that could surprize some riders is the return of Sean and Paul Cuckoo who will be riding in the Intermediate class on a 290 Sherco they last rode in the Inter Centre Team trial in Wales 4 years ago but have not rode competitively for about 20 years.
