ACU British Quad Championship heads to Hawkstone in 2015
The opening round of the 2015 ACU British Quad Championship will be staged at the famous Hawkstone International - one of the UK's biggest motocross meetings of the year!

Being part of the event, which attracts many of Europe's biggest names, a massive crowd and is attended by all the big players in the off-road trade, is a massive boost for the series.

Quads will get their normal three 20 minutes races around the iconic sand track which has hosted numerous GPs over the years and features one of the most famous hills in world motocross. There will also be international MX1 and MX2 races. Last year Dutch superstar Jeffrey Herlings headed the entry.

Gary Ford of the event promoters HIMX, said: "We are really excited to have the Quads back on February 22. It is some time since they were there and to have the best quad riders in the UK supporting our MX1 and MX2 International classes will hopefully be a real attraction for the spectators.”

Promotion of the British Championship was taken over by NORA MX this year, who run the series on behalf of the ACU. A spokesman for NORA said: "We are delighted to get such a prestigious event onto the ACU quad calender.

"When we took over the series this year it needed some help getting back on its feet, but we always said our long term objective is to grow the status of the series and quad racing generally.”

"This will put quad racing back in front of a big audience so we can showcase how brilliant the racing is, and it will hopefully give the trade more of a reason to support our riders too."

"It’s a tough track that sorts the men from the boys though. Anyone who is serious about winning the 2015 title will need to be taking their winter training seriously!"

The full 2015 championship calender will be finalised soon and it is hoped that it will be announced at the final round of this year's series at Canada Heights on 5th October.
