ACU Championships return to action at Shakespeare County Raceway this weekend

Round 4 of the ACU Championships will at the Open Sports Nationals at Shakespeare County Raceway over the August Bank Holiday on the 23/25th August.

 

Funnybike.

Gary Jones leads the Funnybike class by 215 points ahead of Dave Peters who is 20 points ahead of Springspeed Nationals winner Eric Richard.  After running a personal best (7.282) at the last round Dale Leeks will be hoping for more improvements.  Summernationals number one qualifier Lorcan Parnell (7.105) will be trying to go even quicker at the Open Sports Nationals.

 

Comp Bike.

Allan Davies won here back in May at the Springspeed Nationals and will be trying to increase his points lead over Phil Crossley who dominated the qualifying at Summernationals with back to back 7.58.  Kevin Osman is in third spot of the championship 210 behind Crossley.  Tony Clark has won at Shakespeare before and will be hoping to find that form again at the Open Sports Nationals.  Likewise both Paul Hambridge and Steve Moor will hoping to find their form at the event.

 

Super Street Bike.

Reigning ACU Super Street Bike champion Graham Balchin is working around the clock repairing his engine, which got damaged at Hockenheim.  Chris Reed has also been busy rebuilding his motor after his cases broke at the Summernationals.  Dave Thomas will be hoping for a better performance as he is still finding a set up on his clutch.  Dave Ward is also entered for this meeting.
